Automated Packaging Systems brings speciality ESD (Electro Static Discharge) bags-on-a-roll to Northern Manufacturing & Electronics Exhibition as well as a range of packaging machines and services for visitors to see on stand K56.
Production and build up of static electricity - tribocharging - can cause irreparable damage to electrical components. To enable electronics manufacturers and distributors to pack more efficiently and still protect sensitive electronic devices from product-damaging electrostatic fields, Automated Packaging Systems created ESD bags specifically for the electronics market.
Packing with a flexible, semi-automatic Autobag® bagging system enables manufacturers of sensitive electronic components to achieve packing speeds of up to 2000 bags per hour, and the bags-on-a-roll format allows faster bag changeovers and minimises storage requirements.
The company will also unveil the latest in its range of polyethylene films for void-fill and protective packaging. GeoTech is a high performance reprocessed and oxo-degradable film to be used in the construction of AirPouch® air pillows featuring unique EZ-Tear™ perforations.
AirPouch® is also available with Anti-Static air pillows engineered to protect products that may be harmed by static discharge and for void-fill packing of electrical and electronic components. These specialist pillows are engineered from linear low density polyethylene that is amine free and compatible with silver solder and polycarbonate materials. AirPouch Anti-Static pillows are easily identifiable by their pink colour; the durable and recyclable dust-free air pillows are available in various standard lengths.
Autobag packaging systems including the PS125 desktop bagger are featured at this year's show as well as AirPouch void-fill and protective packaging systems.
