Responding to the European Commission's green transport plan announced today, Ian Williamson, Vice Chair of the UK Hydrogen Association and Director, Air Products said:
"The acknowledgement within the Commission's strategy that hydrogen fuel cell vehicles are one of the "most promising options" in the creation of a low carbon transport infrastructure is very welcome and follows quickly on the heels of the UK Energy and Climate Change Select Committee's call for the UK Government to invest further in hydrogen.
Hydrogen battery hybrid vehicles will be key to creating a low carbon transport infrastructure throughout Europe because, unlike pure electric vehicles, they offer consumers the same range, speed and fuelling times of conventional vehicles."
