Frederic Smart has selected Access Delta from Access Group to drive further efficiency in their operations as it sets out its growth plans. The agricultural merchant and food distribution specialist needed a solution that would be able to handle a host of warehouse complexities and allow it to expand the business without increasing headcount.
Frederic Smart chose Access Delta WMS to strengthen the productivity, accuracy and overall efficiency of their distribution centre. The business will make use of best-in-class 3PL functionality which will improve on the current working practices and as a result lead to excellent customer service levels.
The business wanted a supply chain led technology partner that it could work closely with to meet the next phase of exciting growth the firm looks to achieve. Douglas Smart at Frederic Smart, commented, “Our current system just wasn’t meeting our requirements and we had to create manual workarounds to achieve what we wanted. Following a comprehensive review of the options in the marketplace, we decided that Access Delta is the best system in its class for the 3PL market.”
Operating from a 60,000 square foot temperature-controlled national distribution centre, Frederic Smart was looking to build a long-term partnership with their chosen provider. “We met a number of people at Access and they clearly knew our market sector very well which put us at ease.”
As a result of the change, the new system will help Frederic Smart to streamline and automate their processes. This includes a full real-time RF environment which will drive significant productivity. “We’re looking forward to getting the system in place so we can start to reap the benefits. Greater accuracy and having just one version of the data will make us more efficient which will have a beneficial effect on our customer service too.”
A further reason for choosing Access Group was the size and resources that it has at its disposal, helping Frederic Smart to carry on growing the business without worrying that their key systems would be able to cope. “With the new system in place and the associated functionality, we can better compete in what is a highly competitive environment. In addition to this, we believe that we’ll have a happier workforce as a result as they will benefit from using a more robust and user-friendly warehouse management system,” concluded Douglas.
