Market leading business applications and services provider, Advanced Business Solutions (Advanced), has announced that it has acquired ATMS plc, a provider of 'best of breed' warehouse management IT systems to the third party logistics, manufacturing and distribution sectors.
The acquisition will further strengthen Advanced's proposition to the third party logistics market which is projected to reach US$1.35 trillion worldwide by 2018*
ATMS will be incorporated into Advanced Business Solutions' Commercial Division. As ATMS and Advanced have enjoyed a successful partnership since June 2011, they already have a number of joint customers.
The acquisition will build on the existing integration of ATMS' leading warehouse management system, StockTrack Plus, into Advanced's financial management system, OpenAccounts, and supply chain management software system, OpenLogistix. OpenLogistix was acquired by Advanced in March 2011.
Simon Fowler, Managing Director of Advanced Business Solutions (Commercial Division), says, "The acquisition of ATMS provides us with significant opportunity in the UK supply chain market while building on our investment into OpenLogistix. We look forward to promoting our integrated product offering to third party logistics, manufacturing and distribution customers."
ATMS turns over £1.3m per annum, has 16 members of staff who are based at its Birmingham office and 40 customers across 100 sites. Customers include Molton Brown, Walkers Snack Foods and Domino's Pizza Group.
