Redhead International has enjoyed a reputation for top-notch customer service and reliability for almost 30 years. Now, it has increased its capacity and scale, offering clients an enhanced service solution.
The company underwent a reverse integration with DB Schenker Logistics early in 2016, which meant that while resources and reach have both significantly increased, the company continues to trade as Redhead – and retains the renowned customer reputation for service and reliability, as well as its highly experienced management team.
Redhead International has tapped into DB’s considerable resources to expand and improve the scope of its services across Europe. Thousands of staff and vehicles are now collaborating under the Redhead banner, delivering more than 50,000 consignments a month to all corners of the continent.
The 75% acquisition by DB Schenker means options have opened up across the whole of Europe, Russia, Scandinavia and North Africa. The company now boasts a diverse network that connects a multitude of countries, as well as a wide selection of customers across various sectors, from automotive, electronics, print and industrial to engineering and even fashion.
Redhead now has access to more than 720 locations across Europe, bolstered by 21,000 staff and a fleet of almost 43,000 vehicles offering two main services, System Freight and Direct Freight. System Freight is a rapid connection service transporting loads from 32 kilograms to 2,500 kilograms while Direct Freight is an economical option offering part and full load services.
The latest technology is also employed, with internet tracking and state-of-the-art warehousing facilities including pick and pack and stock control. All documentation requirements are also taken care of.
It’s a far cry from Redhead’s beginnings back in 1978, but the company’s reputation for cost-effective, customised, reliable distribution remains unchanged.
Managing director Tony Suggitt said the merger had brought about a win-win situation for Redhead International customers: “We have always delivered to and from Europe and have cultivated a reputation for excellent service and reliability since the very early days of our business. Now, however, we can offer daily departures to 20 different European countries, ensuring an extensive and smooth supply chain for our customers.”
Mr Suggitt said the Redhead International team’s experience and knowledge of the often complex requirements of different markets helped ensure the smooth flow of goods, while the company retained its ability to swiftly scale up and down to meet the clients’ precise needs.
“Our customers can rest assured we not only have the ability to respond to their needs, we also have the strengthened capability to do so swiftly and seamlessly,” he added.
