Isuzu Truck to launch new products

At Isuzu Truck (UK) Limited we have made no secret of the fact that we’ve always intended to introduce heavier products to our existing model line-up at some point in our development here in the UK. Indeed at last year’s CV Show we allowed UK customers to see a preview of our intentions and displayed a prototype 12 tonne Japanese specification Isuzu ‘F’-Series on our stand. Now our aspirations have come to reality and at this year’s show we will be displaying our entirely new 4x2 rigid, heavy truck range, at 11, 12, 15 and 18 tonnes gross vehicle weights.

The new range (historically known in Japan as the ‘F’-Series) will be introduced to the UK as the new ‘Forward’ range. This range of vehicles all feature Isuzu’s newly developed cab (as seen at last year’s show) which has already impressed many traditional and new customers in Japan, America and Australia where it is already in operation. Initially the new ‘Forward’ range will be introduced to the UK with Isuzu’s proven Euro 4 diesel engines using EGR technology. The new models are as follows:

1. F110.210 – 11 tonnes gvw, 210bhp, 5.2 litre, 4-cylinder engine.
2. F120.240 – 12 tonnes gvw, 240bhp, 7.8 litre, 6-cylinder engine.
3. F150.260 – 15 tonnes gvw, 260bhp, 7.8 litre, 6-cylinder engine.
4. F180.260 – 18 tonnes gvw, 260bhp, 7.8 litre, 6-cylinder engine.
5. F180.300 – 18 tonnes gvw, 300bhp, 7.8 litre, 6-cylinder engine.

The 11 tonner comes with a day cab only and can be matched to either Isuzu’s renown ‘Easyshift’ or manual transmission gearboxes. The 12 tonner has an option of a day or crew cab and initially will have manual transmission only. The 15 and 18 tonners come with a day/rest cab and again initially with manual transmissions. Furthermore and an ‘industry first’ just as we offer on our current range of lighter vehicles the all-new heavier ‘Forward’ range come with Isuzu’s comprehensive 3-year unlimited mileage warranty as standard.

Introducing heavier products to Europe represents a major challenge to Isuzu and indeed for ITUK in England, Scotland and Wales. Isuzu Motors Japan has however successfully sold their middle-weight ‘F’-Series range to over 60 countries throughout the world. They are proven products and operator experience has given them a reputation for durability, reliability and economy. With this product pedigree and ITUK’s growing reputation for having a dependable dealer network all backed by our industry-unique customer care programme - we’re ready for that challenge.

We feel that the CV Show 2008 is the perfect public launch platform for our new range and its timing is just perfect for us. UK customers will be able to take delivery of 11 and 12 tonne models as early as May/June and 15 and 18 tonne models in October/November. Given that many of the European manufacturers are offering UK customers extraordinarily long order lead times for new products we are already taking orders for the new vehicles because we can beat those lead times. To date we have approaching 30 orders ‘in the bag’ and indeed every one of the vehicles to be displayed on our 2008 stand is ‘sold’.

In addition to the new heavier ‘Forward’ range of vehicles Isuzu will be showing examples of their current highly successful selling ‘N’-Series range at 3.5 and 7.5 tonnes gvw.

The stand is ITUK’s biggest CV Show stand ever at 600 square metres and can be found in Hall 6, stand number 6-050. A total of 7 vehicles (4 from a brand new range) on the stand with an even bigger hospitality area from which we can serve our now famous ‘bangers and mash’ lunch - it’s certainly a stand not to be missed.
