Drinks logistics firm Tradeteam goes for first Grocer Gold
18 May 2011
Tradeteam will be amongst the UK's best retail service companies battling it out for a Grocer Gold Award 2011 after being shortlisted for the business food and drink magazine's Technology and Logistics Supplier of the Year gong.
The drinks logistics firm made it to the last three contenders after submitting an application based on its end-to-end supply chain solution for leading managed pub operator Mitchells & Butlers.
Tradeteam currently distributes drinks to Mitchells & Butlers' estate of around 2,000 pubs, restaurants and bars nationwide.
A panel of world-renowned industry experts from a plethora of backgrounds including buying, branding, design, environmental, finance, market research, retail, sales, marketing and wholesale will score applicants.
Tradeteam will discover if it has successfully bagged its first dedicated retail industry honour at an exclusive ceremony at London's Guildhall London on Wednesday 15th June 2011. It faces tough category opposition from Gist & EAT and Morrisons.
Gavin Murdoch Managing Director at Tradeteam said: "We are thrilled to be a contender for this prestigious award, it's fantastic to be recognised as one of the grocery industry's top supply chain partners.
"We have an excellent track record in the logistics awards arena and have been well recognised over the last couple of years for our service excellence, including being named European Transport Company of the Year last year.
"A retail award is certainly much coveted by staff as our drinks logistics operations continue to diversify and our retail partnerships go from strength to strength.
"Without doubt the drinks market is becoming increasingly competitive. It is innovation and technology that help us stay ahead of the game. It's great that an independent panel has recognised this too.
"We are very proud of everything we have achieved for Mitchells and Butlers and the value we have been able to add to their business over the last few years and are looking forward to the awards event with them."
