A groundbreaking new system that wirelessly weighs a fork lift truck's every load has upset the odds to win the top product prize at this year's Fork Lift Truck Association Awards for Excellence.

RAVAS' integrated weighing system, iForks, beat well-known manufacturers including Jungheinrich, Mitsubishi and Yale, to win the FLTA's "Archie" for Innovation; widely acknowledged as the most prestigious of its product awards.
Voters throughout the industry were impressed by the iForks "plug and weigh" premise; with the entire system, including electronics and power supply, integrated into the truck's forks, relaying the information wirelessly via Bluetooth technology.

FLTA president John Chappell, introduced the winner: "The Innovation Award is perhaps the most prized of our Pick of the Year. It signifies that the winner has an ability to create something unique, powerful and a little bit special."
The FLTA is internationally recognised as a leading independent authority on fork lift trucks. It exists to maintain and raise standards in the materials handling industry.

Every year the Association nominates the most industry's most important products and ideas as its "Pick of the Year" in the fields of innovation, safety, environment and ergonomics.

These nominations, which go before a public vote, are a trusted guide to the best new products and innovations.
Collecting the "Archie" statuette, RAVAS UK Sales Manager Nicola Whittle said:

"We are thrilled to have won such an important award, and at the first time of asking.

"We firmly believe that iForks will make a real difference to productivity and safety in materials handling worldwide, so it is great to see that the idea has captured the imagination of so many voters throughout the industry."
