United Kingdom Warehousing Association UKWA unveils a new brand identity

02 July 2009

The United Kingdom Warehousing Association UKWA has formally unveiled a new brand identity. The new look has been developed to signify the Association's ongoing evolution as an organisation that embraces all companies that provide warehousing or other logistics support services in the supply chain.

"The new logo is symbolic of the changes that are happening within UKWA," said Roger Williams, the Association's chief executive officer. "We believe our new logo is modern, fresh and inspired. The logo is a symbol for our organisation and because UKWA is changing we felt that we needed a different symbol."

"We last changed our logo over 10 years ago - since which time our membership has been opened to retailers and manufacturers as well as companies from outside the UK," said Roger Williams. "We also have over 100 'Associate Members' - companies that supply products or services to the warehousing community," he added.

Roger Williams continued: "During the course of the last 14 months, UKWA has undertaken a methodical strategic review of its role and its widening areas of interest. We aim to attract new companies and deliver more tangible benefits to our long standing members to ensure that more and more businesses see belonging to UKWA as vital to their ongoing success."

As part of its corporate 'makeover' UKWA is launching a new website.
The new site will, among other things, provide an extensive warehouse search facility to put buyers and sellers of warehouse space in touch with each other. The site goes 'live' on July 30th.

Originally established as a trade body for the third party warehousing and logistics (3PL) sector, UKWA now embraces all companies that undertake warehousing and logistics tasks but for whom such operations do not represent their core business. Futhermore, membership of UKWA is not restricted to those companies based within the boundaries of the UK - the Association welcomes applications from overseas and has specific membership regions dedicated to different geographical areas. The Association has nearly 700 members.
