Manton Hire Ltd came into existence on the 22nd November 1996, evolving from Manton Hire which was a privately owned company trading in the Hire, Sales and Servicing of Fork Lift Trucks, both New and Used. The original company was founded in 1989, occupying premises at Magull, Liverpool.

In 1991, when trading moved to a full time basis, the company moved to premises at Moat Farm, Hawarden on the North Wales/England border. From there the company moved to its present location at Llay, Wrexham, in April 2005.
